The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting financial planning and analysis. This role involves managing the general ledger, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and assisting with audits and budgeting processes. The Senior Accountant serves as a key member of the finance team and provides guidance to junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
  • Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and coordinating with auditors.
  • Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Review and approve work prepared by junior accountants; provide mentoring and support as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments on accounting and reporting matters.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (and/or IFRS) and internal control best practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
