Purchasing Coordinator
to join our team remotely and manage the ordering, tracking, and coordination of project materials and furnishings.
The
Purchasing Coordinator
plays a critical role in ensuring that all design projects are executed on time and within budget. This role involves handling purchase orders, vendor communication, shipment tracking, and maintaining accurate records for the design team.
Responsibilities:
Create and manage purchase orders for furniture, fixtures, and finishes (FF&E).
- Track orders, shipments, and deliveries to ensure project timelines are met.
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to confirm availability, pricing, and shipping details.
- Resolve discrepancies with invoices, deliveries, or damaged goods.
- Maintain an organized database of orders, pricing, and vendor information.
- Collaborate closely with designers and project managers to anticipate purchasing needs.
- Assist with budget monitoring, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Qaulifications:
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (interior design or related industry preferred).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with sharp attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and purchasing/order management software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and reliable in a remote work setting.
Preferred skills:
- Knowledge of interior design, furniture, and materials sourcing.
- Experience working with design-specific platforms (Ivy, Studio Designer, Design Manager, or similar).
- Prior experience supporting U.S.-based design firms.
