Position Overview
The Training Captain plays a critical role in our organization by mentoring and training aspiring tugboat captains. This position involves teaching candidates how to operate tugboats in various operations and maneuvers specific to their assigned operational areas. The Training Captain ensures that all trainees are thoroughly prepared and competent to handle the responsibilities of a tugboat captain safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum of five years of experience as a tugboat captain, with expertise in various tug control and propulsion systems.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and best practices.
  • Proven experience in training and mentoring junior crew members or trainees.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide clear instructions and constructive feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Completion of relevant e-learning courses such as "Training in the Workplace" and "Assessing in the Workplace."
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations with calmness and efficiency.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ability to work in a diverse global environment and willingness to travel as needed.
