Position Summary:

The Labor Relations Lead is responsible for overseeing employee relations and ensuring full compliance with Dominican labor laws within a fast-paced BPO environment. This role will lead efforts in conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and legal compliance while fostering a positive and productive workplace. The role also acts as a liaison between employees, leadership, and external authorities such as the Ministry of Labor.

Key Responsibilities:

● Handle employee relations matters, including formal complaints, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations, in compliance with Dominican labor law.

● Ensure consistent and lawful implementation of HR policies and procedures related to

employee conduct, absenteeism, working hours, termination, and benefits.

● Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on the correct application of Dominican labor law, with a focus on terminations and disciplinary procedures.

● Manage internal investigations related to harassment, misconduct, or non-compliance, ensuring documentation and resolution.

● Represent the company in meetings or conciliations with the Ministry of Labor, especially in cases of labor claims or inspections.

● Ensure appropriate employee file maintenance for legal compliance (e.g., signed

contracts, disciplinary letters, payment records).

● Conduct regular training for leaders on labor compliance, workplace ethics, and employee relations.

● Collaborate with legal counsel on labor disputes, dismissals, and legal consultations

when needed.

● Monitor key labor KPIs such as attrition, absenteeism, complaints, and workplace

climate indicators.

● Stay updated on changes to DR labor legislation and recommend adjustments to policies accordingly.

● Partner with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and Legal to support business continuity

while minimizing legal risks.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Dominican labor law and employment regulations, including

dismissal procedures, severance calculations, and Ministry of Labor processes.

  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and compliance

Audits.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Spanish; intermediate to advanced English preferred for reporting and international alignment.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Preferred)
  • High ethical standards, discretion, and a strong sense of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business

Administration, or a related field.

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in labor relations or employee relations within the BPO or high-volume service industry.
