Job Description:
The Business Development Executive will own the responsibility for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. This role demands a blend of consultative selling, technical understanding, and client-facing operations — with no expectations of managing a team.
Responsibilities:
New Business Generation:
- Prospect, research, and qualify potential clients in industries that align with SmartLogix's offerings (e.g. fintech, healthcare, enterprise software, cloud services).
- Develop and execute outreach strategies (cold calls, emails, social media, networking) to secure meetings and presentations.
- Tailor and deliver compelling proposals, demos, and pitches aligned with client needs and business value.
Account & Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned accounts; ensure consistent communication and satisfaction.
- Identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities within existing clients.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, product, operations) to deliver on client expectations, ensure timely delivery, and troubleshoot issues.
Follow-up, Pipeline & Forecasting:
- Maintain a sales pipeline in CRM (or equivalent) with accurate updates, stage progression, and forecasting.
- Follow up with prospects and clients to move deals forward, remove obstacles, negotiate terms, and close.
Strategic & Market Insights:
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and new technologies in data, AI, cloud, DevOps, etc.
- Provide input into marketing collateral, messaging, and product direction based on client feedback and opportunities.
Reporting & Metrics:
- Report weekly or monthly on lead generation, conversion rates, pipeline health, and revenue progression.
- Help define and track KPIs for the role (e.g. number of qualified leads, proposals submitted, deals closed, average deal size, client retention/upsell).
Requirements
3–5 years (or more) in B2B technology sales, business development, or consultative selling roles.
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, IT, or related field preferred (but not always required with strong proven experience).
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Experience selling IT services, software development, cloud, or data/AI solutions is a plus.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, Dynamic CRM, HubSpot, Zoho) or ability to learn quickly.
- Willingness to travel locally (if needed) to meet prospects/clients.
- Basic technical literacy—able to understand software development life cycles, cloud architecture, data/AI concepts.
- Consultative selling mindset — ability to uncover business pain points and propose value-based solutions.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills — able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working autonomously, managing own schedule and pipeline.
- Organizational skills, time management, attention to detail.
