Position Summary:
As part of this specialized team, the Collections Specialist will help ensure members have clear, empathetic guidance regarding their outstanding balances, benefits coverage, and billing inquiries. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to balance financial resolution with a compassionate patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor outbound patient outreach campaigns (phone, email, and text) to resolve outstanding balances in alignment with company collection strategies
- Collaborate with external collection agencies by uploading referred accounts, managing day-to-day issues, and ensuring proper handoff and follow-up.
- Track and review accounts receivable (AR) aging reports to identify high-priority accounts and take timely, strategic action.
- Accurately document all patient interactions and collection activities in the system of record, maintaining compliance and supporting reporting needs.
- Partner cross-functionally with billing, AR, and customer support teams to resolve billing discrepancies, update patient contact information, and improve overall collection performance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a professional and empathetic approach to patient engagement.
- Working knowledge of insurance billing, patient responsibility balances, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Proficiency in billing or collections software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and meet established collection goals
Education and Experience:
- Preferred Background: Experience with medical insurance and/or collections
Salary: DOP 250 per hour.
