Head Sommelier
We are seeking an experienced
Head Sommelier
to join our luxury resort in Dominican Republic. This role is ideal for a wine professional who is enthusiastic about curating exceptional guest experiences, driving sales strategies, and ensuring world-class service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and update the resort's wine list in coordination with the Executive Chef and the Food & Beverage management team.
- Oversee and control wine inventory, maintaining accurate monthly stock counts and ensuring sufficient supply for operations.
- Guarantee optimal wine storage conditions, monitoring temperature, rotation, and proper classification.
- Develop and implement wine sales strategies across all dining venues to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Train and mentor service staff to elevate wine knowledge and service standards.
- Support special events, wine pairings, and guest experiences aligned with luxury service expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Head Sommelier or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, and food pairings.
- Food Safety and Hygiene certifications.
- Advanced English (additional languages are highly valued).
- Proven ability to manage inventory, develop sales strategies, and deliver exceptional guest service.
