Job Overview
The QA Application Tester will review, through extensive testing the functionality of the products under development, under different platforms (Operating systems, browsers, extensions, interfaces, etc.), hardware (Peripherals, physical media, etc.) and the wider IT systems. The Tester will scrutinize the application for possible bugs and collaborate in their resolutions, while participating in the creation of new features and enhancements by inventorying final user needs.
The Tester could be assigned to train end users through planned implementation processes and monitor the progress of said implementations as needed. The tester is responsible for providing written reports to the development and/or management teams with detailed information (such as troubleshooting strategies, manuals, and assessment details, etc.) related to their tasks to guarantee the delivery of high-quality products that have been thoroughly tested and approved for deployment in the company's production environments. At the same time, the Tester will support the IT Department on an as needed bases to guarantee operational continuity.
The position may require flexible work hours which could include nights and weekends. Also, occasional travel to other company sites, as needed. The employee may support the organization's clients on an as needed basis in IT related issues.
Responsibilities of the job include:
Examine systems prototypes and production systems
Identify application issues, bugs, errors, etc., document them accordingly and assist DevOps team as needed
Provide timely detailed written documentation to include findings or observations, policies and procedures, user manuals, etc.
Bring to the development team potential features or enhancements as a results of user feedback, meetings, training sessions and personal observations. These must be brought in with proper documentation
Evaluate business processes and procedures that enhance the usability of the product
Liaising with other IT staff such as programmers to produce new systems
Assist in the implementation of new systems, technologies or features as needed. This may include training other teammates and/or client personnel
Support other IT needs in the company as required
Travel to other locations when necessary to troubleshoot problems or assist in IT initiatives as needed
Required skills:
Logical thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, self-motivated and anxious to learn - Teamwork oriented - Ability to work with minimum supervision - Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and adapt to change accordingly
Written and verbal communication skills (For both Spanish, and English)
Proficient in the Agile Scrum framework
Proficient in the use of Kanban Boards
Understands the Software Development Life Cycle protocols
Proficiency in test scripting
Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills, and client-oriented personality
Accurate, precise, and up-to-date documentation and recordkeeping
Proficient in the following Microsoft products
o Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
o Microsoft Office 365
Proficient in iOS and Android
Hands-on experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
Qualifications and training:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
1+ years' experience in QA application testing or analysis background
3+ years' experience with clinical systems preferred
ISTQB Certification, or other industry-related courses and/or certifications preferred
